The Roc Sky Race is the short version of the Royal Ultra Sky Marathon Gran Paradiso (L=31 km -D+=2000 m-D-=2334 m-altitudes between 1476 and 2990 m - 3 passes). The route takes place in the Gran Paradiso National Park (Italy - Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta) and specifically on the southern side, in the upper Orco Valley. The start is from Lake Teleccio in the Piantonetto Valley and the finish line is on the shore of Lake Ceresole Reale.
The route runs mainly on trails (largely coinciding with the ancient Royal Hunting Roads of Gran Paradiso); there are sections on challenging terrain including scree, exposed and snowy stretches with steep slopes (during the race, the most critical sections are equipped with ropes or chains). The course is marked with red route flags bearing the race logo.
Along the route there are refreshment points and first aid stations and checkpoints (see the following diagrams and tables).
The race, taking place within the Gran Paradiso National Park, crosses areas of splendid wild nature of high sensitivity that require the utmost respect from the athletes.
