Gran Paradiso is a wonderful granite massif located in the Graian Alps, at the N-W end of Italy, between Piedmont and the Aosta Valley. Within it lies the highest peak of a mountain massif entirely in Italy, Gran Paradiso (4061 m).
What makes this area unique is its wonderful high-altitude nature, within which the Alpine ibex, the symbol of this territory, roams free. For this reason, in 1922, 100 years ago, the Gran Paradiso National Park was established, the first natural park in Italy.
Gran Paradiso also boasts a rich and noble history, a history that has made these mountains truly the "mountains of the Kings of Italy." Evidence of these historical events is the formidable network of Royal Hunting Roads, an extraordinary work created by the people of Gran Paradiso to facilitate the ancient hunts of the Kings and today wonderful routes in the high altitudes and nature of Gran Paradiso, every two years the race course of the Royal Ultra Sky Marathon Gran Paradiso.
